“Tomorrow is the first blank page of a 365 page book. Write a good one.” -Brad Paisley
To think of the year 2013 as a 365 page book, that puts a new spin on it. Hey maybe it could actually be a good thing. Maybe I could write a book. Oh I know!!! I think too too much.
Well after contemplating this past year, I have been thinking a lot about New Year’s resolutions. Not that I actually make any and actually stick to them. We all seem to make the same resolutions year after year with the same results. It has really got me to thinking (you might say really?). Well but of course. What things are most important and what can I improve on. Well I would say that could be a very loaded observation; but I will give it my all.
Well first and foremost, family and friends. These are the people who are there when you need them most. I am not just saying that, because I feel that I have to. These are the people who have seen me at my absolute worse. And my absolute worse can be pretty scary… I have to give them kudos for that.
The little things in life, for those are the things that make up the bigger things. Maybe my one smile may brighten someone’s day. What does it cost me? Nothing but a little effort. How about when Nicky, my grandson, gives me one of his sweet kisses that absolutely melt me. Those are the little things that I will remember as I get older.
I will work at keeping Christmas in my heart all through the year
. Notice I said will. For it seems at Christmas we are most generous, what about the rest of the year? Don’t many of those same people that we think of at Christmas are the ones that have those same needs the rest of the year? I often time think of these things. Maybe that is my problem… I think a lot…
So I think that this might actually be a good start to the New Year.
You noticed I said start. I can’t overload my wagon too much. It might be too overwhelming if I did. However, I do need to add one more thing to this year. I will be posting more to my blog. I know that I have been very lazy in posting. There have been many changes here on The Farm; a new website design by some very wonderful people, new ideas, and hopefully some really awesome changes.
Who knows maybe I will write a whole book this year! ;)
